Spring definitely had a different meaning in Valsk. The locals may have considered it warm, but though there were fresh greens sprouting up, there were still snowdrifts that hadn't yet completely melted. They sat quietly, remnants of the harsh northern winter that was finally letting up. The northerners ignored them, but Sarain's eyes were constantly drawn to the glaring white shine every time she passed by one.
After the warm, sunny weather that Amedra dubbed as spring, the light elf was kind of in shock at the significant difference in Valsk. She had donned thicker clothes and a heavier cloak so she wouldn't be affected so much by the cold, but she couldn't pass up this opportunity. It was the first time the region had opened its borders for the spring festival - what the Valski described as a festival anyway. Sarain was taking the chance to go in search of some of the harder to procure magical items from the north. Secretly, she was drawn to the sparring, but she'd never admit it. Unless someone challenged her.
She glanced next to her smiling at Ebony as they walked down the street. She was glad he came with her; in spite of the general opening of the event, the stigma against outsiders and especially elves was still strong enough so she felt a lot better having a companion with her. Still, the liveliness of the city during the event was certainly something to see. It seemed that there was endless drinking, dancing and sparring everywhere she looked and in the midst of all of this the city was fortifying its defenses for the war.
She wasn't going to lie, she was glad Valsk was fighting with her instead of against her.
They had just arrived and checked into an inn, and she was almost bouncing with excitement to finally be there despite the cold. Though, she kept her hood up, both for warmth and to draw attention away from her obvious light elf features. The white braids coming out of her cloak drew enough attention as it was. She began to plan her approach, mentally listing all the ingredients she hoped to find as she tried to figure out where to start.
