The first thing Sarain noticed when Cellius stopped was the wyvern. She kept her wide eyes trained on the drake as she realized exactly what situation they had just run into. When Luthais started yelling, her attention snapped to Jinn and the shattered, frozen body of a hunter. Eyes darting between that and the wyvern, she let out a loud string of vile curses which instantly became a terrified scream as Ebony jumped off of Cellius and ran towards Jinn.
And towards the wyvern in the process.
Sarain wiggled out of Luthais' grip and all but fell off of Cellius, landing awkwardly on all fours and kicking her legs to sprint after Ebony. She only got about halfway when she realized Jinn's attack had aggravated the beast, so it had decided to attack the source of the noise: Luthais. It rose up, pumping its great wings. Sarain's cloak billowed in the wind it created as she froze, watching Luthais fend it off. Immediately, her daggers were glued to her hands and she pumped her ki into them, creating an ethereal glow emanating from the blades. She began slashing the air in front of her, sending a flurry of ki blasts at the beast. Because of the speed of her swings it didn't have time to dodge most of them and it roared when they exploded onto its side.
"No! No, running; it'll follow us all the way back to Valsk and then more people will die!" She shouted, continuing to fire off her barrage. She was aiming for its wings, trying to pierce the thick leathery skin and succeeding in one or two places. Unfortunately for her, the wyvern caught on to her plan and noted with interest that she seemed to be the only humanoid figure standing alone without one of the lions. It immediately went for her, trying to eliminate them one by one and perceiving her as the easiest target.
Her pale eyes widened and she barely had time to duck away from its gaping maw only to be caught on the forehead by its wicked claws. The force of the blow sent her tumbling down the slope and away from the others, landing face down in the snow. She heard it land and growl ominously close and sprung away with all her strength as its tail slammed down where she had been moments ago. Blood ran down her face, getting into her eye and only leaving her with one functioning one as the other went dark. She leaped as it lunged for her again, flipping and clawing her way up a nearby tree. She glanced around frantically for the others to find them alarmingly far away and realized with horror that the drake was trying to separate them to take them down easier. The tree shuddered as the wyvern gripped it and tried to knock it down to get to its prey, not falling for opening its wings again around her.
