Resting his chin on the bridge’s ledge Paisley sighed contently. The damp stone felt good under his cheek. Paisley listened to the thrum of the rain and watched the duck pond ripple and bubble.

He had always loved this little park. Everything here felt so still. Which was a nice change of pace, seeing as how quickly the rest of the world seemed to be spiraling out of control. Tracing a long crack in the rocks Paisley gave a half smile, but this place always stay the same.

Fish. That is his goal for the day, regardless if it's raining or not. He wanted fresh fish just out of the pond, so the best place he could remember was the little park aways from Moriel's home. Everywhere else was ' Don't go there it's too dangerous or something will eat you'....or something silly like that.
This place seemed safe enough so he sat near the pond and threw his golden enchanted fish bait and let it activate as it touched the water below. It's a neat little bait that many fish can't stand but take it. A gift from an unknown person that Ebony was very thankful for. It swam comfortably around and around while Ebony hummed his tune as he patiently waited for a fish to be dumb enough to fall for his fish trap.

It was quite a surprise to see a man approaching the pond’s bank. Not many people came here, especially when it was raining. Paisley watched him with mild interest, curious to see what exactly the man intended to-… Was he? Taking his head off of the bridge's rail Paisley squinted in order to see the man. He was fishing! Fishing! In a public park! The fish were for everyone, he couldn’t fish here!

Paisley felt an uncharacteristic spark of anger and bravery. He marched off the bridge fully intending to give this man a piece of his mind. However, once he reached him Paisley’s spark of anger fizzled and died. All he could manage to say, in no more than a breathy whisper. “Umm… Mister? You really should not be fishing here...It’s a public park...you know?” Paisley grabbed the edge of his coat and twisted it absentmindedly between his fingers.

Listening to the rain felt really nice. It felt calming and exhilarating all at once and it led him to smile from ear to ear. That is until someone disrupted his thoughts all together. A boy or it sounded like a boy anyway spoke up to him and Ebony felt a little confused at his remark. " Public park ? There are fish here and... I'm hungry. " he pouts.

Tilting his head Paisley blinked at the man. ‘Hungry?’ He repeated, a little confused. After a pause Paisley buried his face into his hands and let out a happy little laugh. “Mister, I don't think they will taste all that good.” Paisley said looking at him through his fingers. “The fish are just for looking all pretty and eating the little bugs that...that…”

Catching a glimpse of the man's strange bait Paisley’s small voice dwindled into nothing but a gasp. Letting his hands go limp he took a step forward in order to see the bait more clearly. “Oh, what’s that at the end of your rod?...it's awful pretty.” He added, completely transfixed.

Ebony laughed at his statement. " Any fish can be delicious if you cook it right. " he replied tugging at his fishing rod. A little confused at first about what the boy had pointed out but then realized he was talking about his fish bait. " Ah ! Uh- I suppose it's pretty. I don't know if thats true or not but--" he pauses, feeling like a his bait had worked and quickly pulled the rod. He stepped back and pulled harder until finally a fish popped out of the waters. The bait had been fully engulfed by the fish so there was no chance for an escape. " Aha ! Yes ! " he cheered catching the fish in his hands. " Woa, this one is pretty big. " he said happily.

Bunching his hands into small fists Paisley glared at both the fish and man. Pretty bait or not he couldn't fish here, and Paisley was taking it as a personal offense. “It doesn't matter if you can cook all nice. The fish is for everybody. It's not your fish to be taking.” Paisley even managed to raise his voice, however, his raised voice was not much louder than a whisper.

Ebony frowned and held the fish a little tighter when he as told he couldn't have it. " But- I just caught it...." He pouted with a sigh.
He took a moment for himself and pondered what to do next. Eventually though, he threw the fish back in the pond and groaned as let himself fall on the floor. " What do I do now ? Im so hungry...." he whined.

It was a pleasant surprise for Paisley to watch the man change his mind. However, seeing him pout in the dirt he felt a twinge of guilt for depriving the man of his lunch. Bending over Paisley patted his head and said with a smile. “That was good of you. If you are really all that hungry we probably have food at my home.” Hoping to make up for his loss of fish.
