Moriel finally noticed Maera had woken up and had come to sit next to her on the couch. Maera shook her head and smiled at her new friend; she supposed it would be appropriate to refer to her as that now.

"I was just wondering how I was going to get home, but I guess we can always figure that out later. Father probably hasn't even noticed I'm gone yet." She shrugged.

She eyed the kitchen door, mouth watering at the smells coming from it. Curiosity got the better of her and she stood and crept over to the doorway. She peeked shyly inside to see Daeris preparing some food. Her stomach growled and she blushed, when was the last time she had eaten? It must have been sometime before she left her house. According to her stomach, that had to be several hours ago so the time question was more or less solved. She was glad Daeris was making food, though she felt bad for imposing.

Moriel blinked in surprise for a moment, and then laughed, shaking her head as she looked thoughtfully at the ceiling. "Don't worry about that! My mother was going to have me walk you home after dinner! Oh—Unless you can't stay for dinner? You can stay for dinner, can't you? Well, I mean it's quite alright if you can't but since she was already making it and all..." Moriel had more-or-less been carrying out a one-sided conversation with herself as Mae crept over to the doorway and peeked out. Only after she had heard Mae's stomach growl did she realize Mae had gotten up and walked off; Ahe giggled, getting to her feet, walking over to the doorway herself. Once there, she put her hands on Mae's shoulders, giving her a gentle push forwards, urging her to leave the room as she said with a light chuckle, "I guess you can stay after all, then."

Immediately afterwards, once they were in the kitchen, Moriel spoke up so Daeris could hear her now. "Mother, she's awake, and pretty hungry by the sounds of it!"

Daeris had just finished up the pot of stew she was working on when Moriel's voice floated in from behind her, talking about how their "guest" had woken up. She turned around to look at them, and after a quick up and down glance at Mae, she nodded, returning her attention to the pot. "Good; I wasn't sure if Moriel's old pajamas would work, but they seem to fit nicely. Either way, I think your dress might be almost dry... But I wouldn't advise putting it on just yet."

She sighed now, taking the pot out of the heat and setting it down on a counter, continuing, "Moriel, could you go and set the table for dinner then? I'll be right over with the stew..." Once Moriel nodded and started to head out, Daeris looked at Mae, saying, "Mae, could you actually wait here for a moment?" After Moriel had left and she could hear the sound of dishes being set on the table the next room over, Daeris looked at Mae seriously, but not as harshly as she had before in the shop. Instead, this look seemed to carry a kind of gentleness to it, but only if one were really paying attention after a moment, she asked, in a hushed tone, "Mae... Are you feeling any better from before? From when you ran out, that is."

Maera was about to follow after Moriel when she was stopped by Daeris. Shuffling in place, she remained behind while Moriel went off to do what Daeris had asked. Was she in trouble? Nowadays, she only ever received attention from adults when she had done something wrong. She knew Daeris had told her not to run, but she couldn't help herself at the time. She remained silent, studying the floor until Daeris' question caught her by surprise.

She fiddled with the ends of sleeves too long for her, peeking up at the dark elf from under overgrown bangs. There was something unnameable in the little girl's eyes; it was akin to a thinly veiled question. The child was responding with curiosity and hope to Daeris' motherly display. Eventually, a small smile found its way to the girl's lips.

"I'm... warm," she said quietly, as though it were a secret meant just for the two of them.

Daeris watched Mae carefully as she stood there fiddling with the sleeves, waiting patiently for the girl to answer. When she did, however, she looked at her in surprise; she was "warm"? Could that still be her magic reacting? Though, it didn't seem that way anymore... This time, she seemed more content than frightened. Was this good sign then...?

Before she could ask her anything else, their conversation was cut short by Moriel peeking around the frame, saying, "Table's set! Ready to eat?" Daeris gave a bit of a start at Moriel's sudden voice breaking the bit of silence. She sighed soon after, turning around again and picking up the pot. She then looked at Mae and nodded towards the door, saying, "Well that's good to hear. Join us for dinner?" Moriel hurried into the kitchen now as Daeris went to set the pot down in the other room, going behind Mae and putting her hands on her shoulders, smiling at the girl. "Not like you've much of a choice, anyway. I mean you do, But it's all already set up! I promise you, the wait'll be worth it after you've got warm food in your stomach. Come on!" Before she could hesitate, Moriel was already pushing her through the entrance to the next room to dine with the family.

Dinner was done now, and Moriel and Daeris were collecting the dishes. "Wait here a moment; Moriel will be out shortly," Daeris nodded at Mae before heading int the kitchen. Moriel followed after her, sending a smile and a wink Mae's way, also commenting, "I'll be right back, sit tight!" In the kitchen, not much more was said outside of "Help her get home safely", and it was only a couple more seconds before she was back in the dining room, dusting her hands off. "Alright, that takes care of that! Shall we head out now? Ah—of course we'll grab your clothes first, but you don't have to worry about the night clothes for now. Ready to go?"
