(Takes place a bit in the past)
Erroll returned his dagger to its proper place on his belt as he stepped out into the dim evening light, a body guard at each side. The small shop door closed quietly behind the trio, disappearing into the backdrop of one of Song-Lu's shadier side alleys. One could walk past it a hundred times and not notice anything was there, and the fact that Erroll had found it at all had been a result of good fortune. The man who occupied the shop was somewhat of a chameleon; able to hide himself in plain sight and reappear somewhere completely off the grid. He'd been alluding Uarraig, Erroll's "boss", for some time, promising valuables, most recently pricy goods swiped straight out of Belport, only to fall short on delivery with a plathora of excuses. It only had to happen once to land on Uarraig's bad side, and twice to become dead weight to the guild leader. Erroll had been forced to inconvenience himself and journey out to Song-Lu to dispose of the man, resulting in a week-long game of cat-and-mouse that finally ended in Erroll cornering him in the almost invisible side shop in the alley. The whole ordeal had made Erroll quite sour in mood, and he walked out onto the more populated street with a darkening scowl while his guards remained stoic.
The man had begged. He couldn't stomach it when they begged.
Feeling a tad sick, Erroll and his body guards weaved through the sauntering crowd of people; even in the dying daylight the streets had a healthy mass of people occupying them. The trio stopped underneath a glowing lantern in front of a dessert shop and Erroll turned to his guards, the intensity in his eyes causing the taller men to flinch.
"You two should get yourselves a drink, this week has been long and I imagine your both very tired. There's a bar a few blocks away, I'm certain there'll be something there you'll both like."
It wasn't so much a request as opposed to a command. Tentatively, the two men nodded and walked past the dark elf. They knew better than to argue when Erroll was in such a state, and it happened rarely enough that they thought it appropriate to allow him time to himself, without their normally constant presence.
Running a hand through his hair, Erroll let out a deep sigh and leaned his back against the shop wall. To distract himself from his upset stomach and bitter mood, Erroll took to watching the people passing by on the street. He noticed that most of those that past him looked to be tourists, taking in the sights of Song-Lu's shops in the cool of the evening or searching for restaurants to eat supper. After a few minutes, a figure that walked directly in front of Erroll caught his attention. A dark elf, slightly taller than he was. He was walking at a slowed pace, and appeared to be in as dark a mood as Erroll was, which was understandable. Even with a quick glance Erroll could see the other male was noticeabley roughed up. Staring straight ahead, Erroll spoke indirectly to the dark elf, loud enough to catch his attention as he walked by.
"Geez buddy, who'd you piss off? Or should I be asking, who pissed off you? Either way, you're sporting some colourful damage."
