He managed to chase off the one attacking him, but two more were coming. Seth pushed himself off the ground as fast as he could and ran down the path even faster. He didn't even bother to stash his two daggers - he just ran with them.

Seeing that Seth took to his heels, the creatures followed him, but having seen how fast they could run before, they weren’t exactly putting an effort into catching up to him, more like following, occasionally getting close to put a scare in the boy.

Seth didn't turn around, he relied on his ears to tell him how far behind they were. They seemed to catch up and slow down in a pattern, but he wasn't going to take any chances. He continued down the path he was very sure he had to follow, running all the way, pacing himself with the sounds.

Eventually, Seth would begin to spot a huge black shape with two eyes growing larger in front of him as he kept running. It was thankfully house-shaped with lit windows and not another-monster-shaped, and should he actually run up to the doors, he would find them unlocked.

He ran towards the house. He was pretty sure this was the one he was delivering to. He knocked on the door in desperation, but the door flew in and he just helped himself inside. He slammed the door behind him and found a quieter corner of the place to hide.

“You took your time”, came a voice from somewhere on the stairs. There were no lights turned on in the main hall, so the light that actually was was cold and dim, stretching long from the windows.

Faolan stood on the platform where the stairs divided to the left and the right, seemingly looking at Seth but it wasn’t easy to see in this darkness.

He looked at the figure on the stairs, panting from all his running. "Why don't you try saving your arm from forest spirits, old man?" he couldn't really see if he was old or not, but his voice sounded so. Seth gripped his wounds in the dark, feeling the injuries and blood but he couldn't see much else.

”Patch you up..”, Faolan repeated monotonously as he came to take the package as if this was something he wasn’t prepared for, “I guess I have some bandage somewhere.”

He turned around and started to walk towards a wall, not waiting for Seth or gesturing him to follow; that was up to him. He then said something to the wall in an unknown, ominous language, and a door opened in the middle of it.
“Since you stabbed my hounds twice, I will let you find your own way to the bathroom”, he said calmly and went through the door which closed and disappeared behind him.

Seth saw him walk off, and he tried to follow. "W-Wait--" he stopped. "Your hounds?!" He yelled at him. "Did you want me to resign myself to get eaten then?!" He followed on but the man disappeared. He groaned angrily.

"Well if I get blood on your floors that's on you old man!!!" He screamed to the air, making his way to the bathroom. Wherever it might be. He started up the stairs and turned right to start looking.

There came no answer to Seth’s question, he was now alone. Almost.

Since he wasn’t truly welcome in the mansion, it turned its hostile side towards him and let an uncanny atmosphere engulf him. When he turned down the right corridor, a single, animalistic screech could be heard somewhere in the distance, only a single time, and most doors here were locked.

Well, wasn't he right. Seth soon realised they weren't tall tales after all. Either way though, it was definitely his client messing with him. And he didn't appreciate that. He could've just upped and left, but with his injury and the time of day... he at least needed to fix it up. And heading back to Amedra was not possible right now.

The screech caught him off guard, but he had his daggers at the ready in case anything else came by. Nothing did. The doors were locked, save one or two that didn't help him much. Did one person live here? What a huge waste of space for just one person. Seth could envy all this space.

Down at the far end where a window let just a tad of light inside, a dark figure could be seen walking from one corner and disappearing around the next. It had legs and arms but.. Didn’t seem very human otherwise. Said arms were way too long, and it was thin as a skeleton… With no head.

What looked like a headless skeleton passed the hallways up ahead. By now Seth was starting to freak out. He made it a point to know how to get out of here, if ever he decided to turn around and leave. It's just magic, it's just the old man playing with you, he thought. Surely he wouldn't be left here to fend for himself, would he?

"Hey!" he called out to nothing again. Seth had no idea if his client could hear him, but he thought - why the hell not. "Old man!" he yelled again. "Even a hint would be appreciated..." Was the man a summoner? Spirits at his call? He continued to ponder these things to keep his mind occupied.
